The best way to support us is to become a member! As a member you can paticipate in our meetings and suggest your ideas, projects and help out. You renew your membership annually by paying the membership fee.

Why become a member?

First of all, it helps us financially. Your small yearly fee helps pay for the bank, the website, and other ongoing costs. Also, if we reach a certain number of members, we can apply for support from Oslo Municipality.

So is it only about money?

Of course not. With members we have better contact: a newsletter, voting and participating in the annual meeting, and events where you can meet people, chat, or volunteer.

Members can also influence SmåRådina’s work. At the annual meeting we report on our results and answer members’ questions. Members can also submit proposals for discussion. Members can vote in elections or run for the board themselves.

Is membership for life?

No. You need to renew it every year by paying the membership fee. In November–December we send invoices to current members. If it isn’t paid by New Year, the membership is paused. 

Who can get a discount?

Students and refugees can get a reduced rate.

Do I have to live in Norway to join?

Yes. Only people living in Norway can become members.

Is it safe?

At the moment, the risk is very low. Our members and donors have no legal responsibility in the Russian Federation. The member register and all accounting are not kept on the board’s personal devices — we use an external provider in Norway. Their systems follow European security standards. Only a small number of board members have access. It’s hard to rule out unauthorized access completely, but both we and our provider do everything we can to keep members safe.
